Joe and Judy Persinger have sold the Jackson County Banner in Brownstown, Indiana to Community Media Group, Inc., according to John T. Cribb, Bolitho-Cribb & Associates, who represented the sellers in the transaction.
The Jackson County Banner is a twice weekly paid circulation newspaper which is published on Tuesday and Thursday. The Banner is 130 years old, and serves the county seat market area of Brownstown. Included in the sale is the Weekly Budget, a free circulation paper which is delivered to all non-subscribers in the market area.
The Persingers plan to stay in the Brownstown area, and Judy will continue working at the newspaper operation.
Bolitho-Cribb & Associates is a publishing company brokerage firm with offices in Montana, Florida, and Wyoming.
