Independent Publications Inc. (IPI) has acquired all of the shares of stock of Cabinet Press Inc. of Milford, NH from Frank and Martha Manley. Cabinet Press is the publisher of four weekly newspapers serving the Souhegan Valley region of Southern New Hampshire.

Cabinet Press publishes the Milford Cabinet, a weekly newspaper established in 1802. The Cabinet has paid circulation of more than 7,000. The company also publishes three free direct mail weekly newspapers: Merrimack Journal, Bedford Journal and Hollis/Brookline Journal.

Independent Publications operates two subsidiaries in New Hampshire: Telegraph Publishing Co. of Nashua, which publishes The Telegraph and Sunday Telegraph; and McLean Communications of Manchester, which publishes New Hampshire Magazine and NH Business Review.

David Solomon, editor of The Telegraph for the past four years, was named publisher of Cabinet Press.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Cribb & Associates, LLC of Bozeman, Mont., advised IPI on the transaction.
