The Seaside Signal in Seaside, Oregon has been purchased by Steven and Carol Hungerford, principal shareholders of Country Media, Inc., in Cannon Beach, Ore., from Robb Hicks and Tom Mullen, according to John Cribb, of Cribb, Greene & Associates, who represented the seller in the transaction. The purchase was effective November 1.
The Seaside Signal, a 4,000 circulation weekly newspaper joins Country Media’s Oregon coastal cluster that also includes three other weekly newspapers: the Cannon Beach Gazette, the Headlight Herald in Tillamook, and The News Guard in Lincoln City. Country Media also owns eight non-daily publications in the Upper Midwest.
The buyers were represented by Dave Gauger with Gauger Media Service, Inc., a media brokerage firm with offices in Washington and California.
Cribb, Greene & Associates is an eighty-four year old newspaper brokerage company with offices in Bozeman, Montana, and Charlottesville, Virginia.
