About JEFFREY
Jeff has more than two dozen years of experience brokering the sale of a wide range of businesses, from newspaper publishing to information technology, manufacturing, distribution, and business-to-business service firms. He started in the brokerage profession in 1999 at Dirks, Van Essen & Murray, serving as a vice-president there before moving to his hometown of Sacramento in 2003 where he continued to broker the sale of community newspapers.
In 2009 he founded Gold Country Advisors to apply his experience to a broader base of business and industry in Northern California.
Before his career as an M&A specialist, Jeff held management positions with Freedom Communications, Inc. (1994 to 1999). Prior to working for Freedom Communications, Inc., he was a business writer for USA TODAY and the Desert Sun in Palm Springs, CA. His first job out of college was as a news wire service reporter for the City News Bureau of Chicago.
Jeff’s educational credentials include a Bachelor of Science, University of Colorado, Boulder, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA), Claremont Graduate University, Claremont, CA. He is a licensed California Real Estate Broker and Officer (10 No. 01482803), a requirement to sell businesses in the state.
